I’m Allan Klaus. I started shipping software in 2011, at an agency on the coast. Then a startup, consulting, Brazil’s largest hosting company, a US healthtech, an edtech, and a global-mobility product.

On a résumé, this might appear as "Ruby on Rails specialist." In practice, it means I enjoy working where things look less polished on paper: legacy systems that must keep running, integrations no one wants to touch, and problems with a real impact on the business. Whenever there is room to do so, I like to go beyond merely maintaining the status quo—understanding how a system reached its current state, breaking old cycles, simplifying complexity, and transforming legacy code into something better, more sustainable, and ready for the next step.

I also like to turn what I learn into something public. I publish apps, write essays and share knowledge in talks. For me, software doesn’t end when it hits the repository: I like when what I built can be used, read or shared by other people.

I’m a Seventh-day Adventist. Part of what I built — the Adventist Bible and the ecosystem around it — came from that, but the family of Christian apps also serves churches, families and people seeking faith, study and devotional material without being limited to one denominational context.
